India Honor Alyssa Healy in Emotional
Final ODI at Hobart
The India women's national cricket team paid tribute to Australia captain
Alyssa Healy with a heartfelt guard of honour as she walked out to bat in her
final ODI at Bellerive Oval on March 1, 2026. The farewell moment drew warm
applause from the Hobart crowd, with both teams coming together to celebrate
Healy’s remarkable career. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur led the tribute,
acknowledging Healy’s immense contribution to women’s cricket over nearly two
decades.
The guard of honour came despite India suffering a 3-0 ODI series whitewash,
underlining the dominance of the Australia women's national cricket team in the
50-over format.
Australia Post Mammoth Total in Healy’s Farewell Match
Australia delivered a commanding performance in the third ODI, posting 409 for
7 — their second-highest total against India in women’s ODI history. Healy
marked her final ODI appearance with a spectacular 158, while Beth Mooney
remained unbeaten on 106. Georgia Voll added 62, helping Australia build a
total that proved far beyond India’s reach.
Healy’s innings stood as the crowning moment of her ODI career, showcasing the
depth and dominance of Australian women’s cricket ahead of the upcoming one-off
Test against India beginning March 6 in Perth.
India, chasing 410, were bowled out for 224, falling short by 185 runs to
complete a tough ODI tour.
Focus Shifts to One-Off Test in Perth
With the ODI series concluded, both teams now turn their attention to a rare
women’s Test match in Perth. For India, Healy’s farewell has added extra
motivation to respond strongly in the red-ball format and end the tour on a
competitive note.
The ODI series once again highlighted the gap between the two sides in the
50-over game, while also providing valuable experience for India’s emerging
players against the world’s top-ranked team.
