CPL 2026 Major Boost with Jamaica Return
CPL 2026 Welcomes Back Jamaica Franchise

CPL 2026 will mark the return of a Jamaica-based franchise after a two-year absence from the Caribbean Premier League. The revival is seen as a significant boost for CPL 2026, restoring one of the tournament’s most passionate cricketing markets and reintroducing matches at the iconic Sabina Park.

New Ownership Ushers in CPL 2026 Era

The franchise rights for CPL 2026 have been acquired by Kingsmen Sports Enterprise, an American investment group led by Pakistani entrepreneur Fawad Sarwar. The previous Jamaica Tallawahs ownership had exited in 2023, citing lack of support, which left CPL 2026 without a Jamaican presence until now.

Kingsmen recently invested in a new Pakistan Super League team and also operate Chicago Kingsmen in Minor League Cricket. Their entry into CPL 2026 signals broader global interest in Caribbean cricket and aims to position Jamaica as a hub for sport and entertainment.

Sabina Park Set for CPL 2026 Action

Organisers confirmed that Sabina Park will host four matches during CPL 2026, marking the league’s return to Jamaica for the first time since 2019. The upcoming CPL 2026 season is scheduled to run from early August to September 21.

The reintroduction of a Jamaican franchise adds competitive depth and regional balance to CPL 2026, while also reigniting fan excitement in one of the league’s traditional strongholds.
