Finn Allen Maiden IPL Century Powers KKR to Fourth Straight Win Over DC

Finn Allen Lights Up Delhi With a Masterclass in Hitting

Kolkata Knight Riders produced one of the most one-sided performances of the IPL 2026 season on Friday night, dismantling Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to make it four wins on the bounce. The hero of the hour was New Zealand opener Finn Allen, whose maiden IPL century turned what should have been a nervy chase into an outright cakewalk.

After Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bowl, KKR's spinners quickly tightened the screws on Delhi's middle order. Pathum Nissanka gave DC a solid platform with a brisk half-century, but once he departed, the innings fell apart. KKR's bowlers kept things tight and a boundary drought of 38 balls in the middle overs saw Delhi limp to 142 for 8. Kartik Tyagi finished with 2 for 25 and was excellent at the death. Ashutosh Sharma did his best to rescue the innings, scoring a fighting 39 off 28 balls, but the damage was already done.

KKR's reply started unusually

Two freak dismissals in quick succession put them in a brief wobble, but Finn Allen and Cameron Green steadied the ship before Allen took matters into his own hands entirely. He brought up his fifty off just 28 balls and then went into another gear, reaching his century off only 47 deliveries. By the time it was done, KKR had smashed 59 runs in their final 20 balls and completed the chase in 14.2 overs with 8 wickets in hand.

What makes this win significant is the timing. KKR came into this match sitting in the bottom half of the points table, and four straight victories have transformed their playoff picture almost overnight. For Delhi, however, the result is a serious blow. They have now lost four of their last five games and are slipping quietly out of contention.

With the playoff places still very much up for grabs, KKR's momentum could not have arrived at a better time. Allen looks in the form of his life, and if KKR can keep this run going, they are going to be a serious problem for anyone they meet in the knockouts.
