GT's Four-Win Run Makes Them Playoff Favourites

IPL 2026 Gujarat Titans on a Roll: Four Straight Wins Put GT in Playoff Driving Seat

A Complete Team Finding Its Best Form

Gujarat Titans were not always this dominant in IPL 2026. The season started with mixed results and there were legitimate questions about whether the batting unit was doing enough to support what has always been a quality bowling attack. Something clicked in the last four matches. GT have now beaten four consecutive opponents without much trouble, posting big totals, defending them under pressure, and doing all of it with the kind of collective confidence that only comes when every department is contributing at once.

Gill Leads with Bat and with Authority

Shubman Gill has been the architect of the winning run. The India captain has scored 462 runs in 10 innings this season at an average of 46.2, including four half-centuries. His 84 off 44 balls against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday was not just another good knock. It was a statement of character, coming as it did while he played through an ankle injury that the physio wanted him to stop and rest. That he not only batted on but hit nine fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 190.91 tells you everything about the standard he holds himself to. When the captain does that, the rest of the team follows.

Rashid Khan Back to His Devastating Best

The other pillar of GT's four-match win streak has been Rashid Khan, who took four wickets for 33 against Rajasthan to take his season tally to 15. Rashid bowled in the middle overs when the chase was alive and took wickets in consecutive deliveries twice in the same spell. Three of his four dismissals were either bowled or rattled the stumps directly, which is always the signature of Rashid at his most dangerous. He is now a genuine Purple Cap contender and brings a match-changing dimension to this GT side that no other team can replicate.

Washington Sundar and the Supporting Cast

One thing that separates a good team from a title-winning one is the depth of contribution beyond the headline names. Washington Sundar has been excellent in the last few matches, providing quick runs in the middle order and offering another spin option in the bowling. Jason Holder has been outstanding with the ball in the death overs. Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj continue to give the innings structure with their new-ball work. This is a squad where five or six players step up every single game, not just one or two.

GT's Playoff Path Is Looking Clear

Four wins from their last four matches means GT now sit second on the table with 14 points, equal to SRH and above RCB, RR, and CSK who are all chasing them hard. With a top-two finish potentially within reach, GT could play in the qualifying final with two shots at making the IPL final. Gill's injury recovery will need to be monitored, but if he is fit and the recent form continues, Gujarat Titans are right now the team that everyone in the remaining half of the competition least wants to face.
