Speaking candidly, Patel dismissed the notion of IPL fixing, stressing that matches are neither pre-decided nor manipulated.

With anticipation building for IPL 2026, scrutiny around IPL fixing often re-emerges. Patel, who represented Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, said such claims ignore the league’s robust monitoring systems. According to him, the scale of oversight makes IPL fixing practically impossible.

Addressing IPL fixing concerns, Patel highlighted strict accreditation rules, constant surveillance, and digital tracking. Every movement, from hotel access to dressing room entry, is monitored. Phones, emails, and visitor records are logged, ensuring accountability throughout the tournament and reducing any scope for IPL fixing.

Patel argued that players have far more at stake than winning a single game. Reputations, careers, and livelihoods would be jeopardized by IPL fixing, making such risks illogical for professionals competing at the highest level.
