Ishan Kishan Powers SRH in 229 Chase Thriller

Ishan Kishan Steals the Show at Sawai Mansingh

Sunrisers Hyderabad produced a breathtaking batting display to chase down Rajasthan Royals' 228 for 6 with nine balls to spare at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 25. Despite a stunning century from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, RR found themselves on the losing side as Ishan Kishan's explosive 74 off just 31 balls guided SRH to a five-wicket victory and a fourth straight win in IPL 2026.

Sooryavanshi Sets a Brilliant Stage

Rajasthan Royals' innings was headlined by the 15-year-old phenomenon Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who crashed his second IPL century of the 2026 season from just 37 balls. He struck 12 sixes in his innings, setting a new RR record for most maximums in a single IPL knock. Opening partner Dhruv Jurel contributed a fluent 51 off 35 balls, and the pair put on 112 runs together for the second wicket. Donovan Ferreira's quick-fire 33 off 16 balls at the death pushed Rajasthan to 228 for 6, a total that looked formidable on any ground.

Abhishek and Kishan Demolish the Target

SRH's chase began with an ominous purpose. Abhishek Sharma, who has been in exceptional form all season, contributed 57 off 29 balls at the top of the order, hitting 11 fours and a six. He and Kishan shared a 132-run stand for the second wicket off just 55 deliveries, a partnership that essentially ended the contest inside the first half of the chase.

Kishan was the destroyer in chief. He arrived at the crease and immediately took the attack to the Rajasthan bowlers, reaching his half-century in just 24 balls. His 74 off 31 featured 11 fours and three sixes, and his timing and ball-striking on a true Jaipur surface was of the highest quality. Jofra Archer was the pick of the RR attack with two wickets, but even he could not stem the flow of runs.

Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy steadied SRH in the middle overs, and Salil Arora finished the job with a composed boundary through the leg side to seal a five-wicket win in 18.3 overs.

SRH Climb the Table

The result moved Sunrisers Hyderabad to third place on the IPL 2026 points table with 10 points from eight matches. With four wins in a row, they have built the kind of momentum that serious playoff contenders need. Abhishek Sharma, who also took the Orange Cap lead with this performance, looks in the form of his career.

Rajasthan Royals remain in fourth place on 10 points, level with SRH but behind on Net Run Rate. Their bowling attack needs to find answers before the crucial final stretch of the league stage.
