Kohli and Bumrah Return as India Name Strong ODI Squad for England

India's selection committee named a strong squad for the upcoming three match ODI series in England, with star batter Virat Kohli and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah both recalled after spells out of the side through injury.
Shubman Gill retains the captaincy following his impressive start to the role, having just led India to a 3-0 ODI sweep against Afghanistan. Shreyas Iyer continues as vice captain, while the squad blends experienced campaigners with several of the depth players who impressed during the recent home series against Afghanistan.
Kohli, who suffered a hamstring strain during the IPL 2026 final on May 31, has been included with a fitness test scheduled before the tour begins. The veteran missed the entire Afghanistan series while recovering, and a final call on his availability will only be made once he clears his assessment at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
