MS Dhoni created headlines once again after emerging as the highest individual taxpayer across Bihar and Jharkhand during the 2025-26 financial year. The achievement highlights how MS Dhoni continues to remain one of India’s most influential sporting personalities even after international retirement.                        

According to senior Income Tax officials, MS Dhoni topped the list of individual taxpayers from both states combined. Authorities confirmed that Jharkhand alone contributed nearly Rs 12,000 crore in tax collections, with MS Dhoni playing a significant role among high-value contributors.

The latest figures showed improved collections from mining activities, corporations, and salaried taxpayers. Officials stated that MS Dhoni stood ahead of all individuals despite economic fluctuations caused by weather-related disruptions in the mining sector during the financial year.

Alongside the announcement involving MS Dhoni, officials also discussed preparations for the new Income Tax Act, 2025. Awareness programmes are expected across Bihar and Jharkhand, while MS Dhoni’s presence at the top of the taxpayer rankings once again reflected his financial stature and enduring popularity in Indian cricket.
