Pretoria Capitals secured a massive bonus-point win over MI Cape Town, moving to the top of the points table with their third consecutive victory. Chasing a target of 186, MI Cape Town fell 53 runs short despite an unbeaten 68 from Reeza Hendricks.

                        

Batting first, Pretoria Capitals scored 185/6 in 20 overs. Connor Esterhuizen and Shai Hope provided a solid start, but wickets fell regularly. Dewald Brevis and Sherfane Rutherford formed a crucial partnership, with Rutherford scoring a 24-ball fifty and Brevis hitting key sixes to propel Capitals' total. The last five overs yielded 64 runs, underlining the Capitals’ aggressive batting strategy.

MI Cape Town began with promise as Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks found the boundary early. Nicholas Pooran also contributed with a six and a four. However, a middle-order collapse saw MI Cape Town lose four wickets for just nine runs between the sixth and tenth overs. Despite Hendricks’ valiant unbeaten 68, MI Cape Town could not recover from the early setbacks.

Kagiso Rabada starred with the ball for Pretoria Capitals, taking 2-33, while Gideon Peters claimed three key wickets for MI Cape Town. Rashid Khan and Lizaad Williams also played pivotal roles in containing runs. The bowling efforts combined with aggressive batting earned Pretoria Capitals a bonus-point win, strengthening their playoff prospects.
