Ravindra Jadeja To Captain Rajasthan Royals In IPL 2026? Franchise Drops Massive Hint
As the countdown to IPL 2026 approaches, all eyes are on the captaincy situation in Rajasthan Royals (RR), with numerous fans and cricket experts speculating that Ravindra Jadeja could succeed Sanju Samson in the leadership role. Amid the chatter, a cryptic social media post by the franchise has stirred further speculation, leaving fans buzzing about the possibility.

Jadeja, a renowned all-rounder, rejoined RR in a trade deal with Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Having previously represented RR between 2008 and 2009, Jadeja's return to the franchise has raised expectations of a leadership change. Several experts believe he has the right experience to take over from Samson, and with his vast IPL pedigree, Jadeja has proven his worth on the field time and again.

Meanwhile, there is talk that RR might relocate some of their home matches to Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune for IPL 2026. Sources revealed that the franchise is in advanced talks with the stadium authorities and may move their base from Jaipur due to ongoing disputes with the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).

The decision to move games to Pune follows tensions that escalated in IPL 2025, when an RCA official accused the franchise of match-fixing, a claim they strongly denied. These disputes, along with administrative issues at the RCA, have made RR reconsider their long-term home base in Jaipur.

With Pune already hosting international cricket events, including games in the 2023 Men's ODI World Cup, the MCA Stadium is considered a strong contender to be RR’s new home. A formal announcement is expected soon from the BCCI regarding the franchise's decision
