Royal Challengers Bangalore Women
Clinch WPL 2026 Title With Record Chase
Royal Challengers Bangalore Women delivered one of the most remarkable
performances in Women’s Premier League history, chasing down a daunting target
of 204 against Delhi Capitals Women in the WPL 2026 final at the BCA Stadium.
RCB sealed a dramatic six-wicket victory with two balls to spare, completing
the highest successful chase in a WPL final. The night will be forever
remembered for Smriti Mandhana’s breathtaking 87 off just 41 deliveries, a
captain’s knock that powered her side to championship glory.
Georgia Voll Shines Alongside Mandhana
Georgia Voll produced a sensational 79 off 54 balls, stitching together a
record-breaking 165-run second-wicket partnership with Mandhana — the highest
stand in WPL 2026 history. The chase was completed in 19.4 overs as RCB
dismantled Delhi’s bowling attack with fearless stroke play and composure under
pressure, rewriting the record books in the process.
Delhi Capitals Women Fall Short Again in WPL Final
Earlier, Delhi Capitals Women had posted a formidable 203 for 4, powered by
Jemimah Rodrigues’s fluent 57 off 37 balls and Laura Wolvaardt’s brisk 44 off
25. Despite setting what appeared to be a match-winning total, Delhi endured
their fourth defeat in a WPL final. For RCB, Lauren Bell delivered a standout
bowling performance, returning economical figures of 0 for 19 in her four overs
to keep the Capitals in check.
Season Awards and Campaign Highlights
Mandhana capped off a dream season by finishing as the WPL 2026 leading
run-scorer with 377 runs in nine matches, earning the Orange Cap. Gujarat
Giants Women spinner Sophie Devine claimed the Purple Cap with 17 wickets
across the tournament. RCB had dominated the league stage with six wins from
eight matches, entering the WPL 2026 final as favourites and emphatically
living up to expectations with a historic championship triumph.
