India bowling coach Morne Morkel has defended the team's decision to continue backing Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma despite growing calls to include teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the playing XI. Speaking ahead of the second T20I against England, Morkel said the coaching staff believes in showing faith in players who have consistently delivered on the international stage.

Morkel highlighted that Abhishek Sharma has been one of the world's leading T20 batters, while Sanju Samson played a key role in India's successful T20 World Cup campaign. He explained that although Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is an exciting young talent, it would not be fair to immediately replace players who have helped the team achieve success.

The coach praised Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for adapting quickly to the Indian dressing room despite being only 15 years old. Morkel revealed that the youngster has looked confident during training sessions and has settled into the squad environment with ease. He added that everyone in the team is excited about the teenager's future and believes he will be ready whenever his opportunity arrives.

Morkel also reserved special praise for young pacer Prince Yadav, with whom he previously worked during his time at Lucknow Super Giants. He described Prince as a calm and highly skilled bowler who continues to improve his execution under pressure. The coach was equally pleased to see Harshit Rana return from injury and bowl with intensity, giving India more quality options as they continue building a strong squad for the future.
